Regarding Coronavirus

Dear Friends of the Flute Society of Kentucky,

As many of you know, the Board of Directors of FSK met earlier this week and made the very difficult decision to cancel our on-site Flute Festival.  As much as we value sharing great flute music and ideas, we also value the health of our Festival attendees.  We also realize that cancellations of this kind are a great disappointment to those who were preparing for the workshops and concerts, sharing their music and love of learning, and participating in our competitions/masterclasses. Therefore, we are really excited to announce that we will continue to have our 2020 Festival ONLINE!

Our Virtual Flute Festival will go live on Monday, March 30, 2020 and can be accessed for a limited time at www.fskentucky.net.

Beginning March 30, those registered for the Festival will have exclusive access to presentations, performances, and plenty of additional online resources.  Our competitions will continue through uploaded performances and winners will be announced at that time as well.  You will also receive a pdf of our official program book, which lists participants, performances that can be viewed online, a history of FSK, and sponsors.

There's still time to register for this event!  Go here to fill out the online registration form. Registered FSK members will receive an email containing a password once the festival goes live so that you can access all the activities, workshops, and concerts that we have uploaded - exclusive to FSK Virtual Festival Attendees!

We truly appreciate your continued support of our organization and the time and effort that you have invested to be a part of our Festival.  We hope that this Virtual Edition of our Festival will keep you connected to your flute family across the miles (and from the comfort of your own homes!) until we can meet again in person for Flute Festival 2021. Special thanks to our sponsors: Miyazawa Flutes, Brannen Brothers Flutes, Flute Specialists, Hurst Music of Lexington, the University of Kentucky School of Music, and composer Christopher McRae.

Thank you again for all your support!

Sincerely,

Julie Hobbs
