
2027 COMPETITIONS
The Flute Society of Kentucky invites you to participate in the following competitions to be held as part of the 2027 Flute Festival, April 2-3 at Northern Kentucky University (Highland Heights, KY).
HOW TO ENTER:

Submit the Competition Application Form by 11:59 PM EST on DECEMBER 18, 2026.

Submit the Competition Entry Fee by 11:59 PM EST on DECEMBER 18, 2026.
General Information

Please submit your competition entry as an UNLISTED YouTube Link in your Competition Application Form.

Applicants who are invited to compete in the live Round may use the FSK pianist for a fee.

High School Soloist Competition: Open to flutists in grades 9-12

Andersen, 24 Progressive Studies Op. 33; pub. Carl Fischer: #19 Adagio (pickup into m. 18 to the end)

Final Round (Live): Lauren Bernofsky, Sonatine
Collegiate Soloist Competition: open to all undergraduate college students

Recorded Round: one piece of your choice, not to exceed ten minutes in length.

Young Artist Competition: open to performers younger than 31 years of age as of April 2, 2027

Recorded Round: one piece of your choice, not to exceed ten minutes in length.

COMPETITION RULES

All application fees are non-refundable. The Competition entry fee does not include festival registration.

Competition winners may NOT re-apply to competitions they have won prior, but may compete in a different age group or category.

You must upload your VIDEO recording as an Unlisted YouTube video. Please add your link to the Competition Application Form.

All applications and entry fees are complete and paid in full by the deadlines posted above.

All decisions reached by judges are final.
